Macro Automation Studio 1.0.129: A Rebuilt Agent Chat

Since mid-September most of our work has gone into one place: MAS Agent, the part of Macro Automation Studio that turns a sentence into a working macro. The agent itself got more focused and more careful, and the chat you use to talk to it was rebuilt from the ground up.

This update has two parts, and each section below says which part it belongs to:

  • Already live. Changes to the agent service. They apply to every account today, with nothing to install.
  • In the desktop update. Changes to the app on your computer: version 1.0.129 on Windows and 1.1.4 on macOS, both out now. You get them by updating the app.

1. A Rebuilt MAS Agent Chat

In the desktop update (Windows 1.0.129, macOS 1.1.4).

The chat was the part of the agent that felt the least finished. Messages took a moment to show up, and the conversation could blank, reorder itself or show a line twice when a turn ended or you switched chats. It has been rebuilt so the conversation behaves the way a conversation should.

  • Your message appears the instant you press Enter. In a new chat, in a follow-up, or when you steer the agent while it works.
  • The agent answers right away. It acknowledges your message first and does its preparation afterwards, so you are never left looking at an empty screen.
  • The conversation stays put. Finishing a turn, switching to another chat and coming back, or reopening the app no longer blanks, reorders or duplicates what you have already read.
  • Less noise while it works. The agent’s step-by-step chatter is folded into one line that updates in place. Expand it when you want the full list.
  • Questions look the same later. A question the agent asked, and the answer you gave, read the same in the history as they did live.
  • A proper message box. It grows as you type. Enter sends, Shift+Enter starts a new line, and each chat keeps its own unsent draft.
  • Retry on a failed send. If a message does not go through, it stays in the chat marked as not sent, with a Retry button.
  • The live connection recovers by itself. If the link to the agent drops, the chat reconnects and picks up where it left off.
  • “Open in IDE” shows up when the macro is ready. The result card with the finished macro now appears as soon as the agent is done.

2. An Agent That Stays on Its Job

Already live.

MAS Agent builds automation for your Android device. That is the whole job, and it now holds to it.

  • Anything you can do on the screen is fair game. Daily rewards, a farming loop, a search inside an app, a test flow: if it happens on your device, the agent will build it.
  • Unrelated requests get one clear line. Ask it for an essay or a list of links and it tells you, in one sentence, that it only builds automation macros. A mixed request is handled sensibly: it skips the unrelated part, says so, and carries on with the automation.
  • A greeting gets an instant reply. Type “hi” and the agent asks what you want to automate. It does not open your device, it does not call a model, and it uses no AI credits.
  • A refusal ends the turn. When there is nothing to build, the agent stops there and the chat is ready for your next message.

3. Your Credit Balance Is the Only Limit

Already live.

There is no separate allowance of conversations or turns to keep track of. You can work with the agent as often and for as long as you like, and the only thing that runs down is your AI credit balance. The exchange rate has not changed: 1,000 credits = $1, credits are spent only while the agent works, and a finished macro runs at zero credits. The pricing page has the full picture.

4. Every Model in the Picker Works

Already live.

Some of the models listed in the agent’s model picker were being turned away when a session started. Every model the picker offers can now be used.

5. Every Macro Is Checked in a Sandbox First

Already live.

Before a macro the agent has written reaches you, its code is test-run. That test now happens in a locked-down sandbox: a throwaway environment with no network connection and nothing else within reach. If the check finds a problem you will see the agent say so and fix it, and only then hand you the result.

You do not have to do anything differently. It is one more layer between freshly written code and your account.

6. Windows: The Agent Starts on Every PC

In the desktop update (Windows 1.0.129, macOS 1.1.4).

On some Windows PCs, starting the agent failed with a “file not found” error. The cause was a small Android tool the app depends on to talk to your emulator. It used to be set up the first time something needed it, and on some machines that never happened.

That tool now ships inside the Windows installer, so it is in place from the moment the app is installed. If you ran into this error, updating or reinstalling fixes it.

7. Reliability Fixes

In the desktop update (Windows 1.0.129, macOS 1.1.4).

  • Scripts keep running after the app restarts or updates itself. A restart could leave the Code Editor unable to run scripts until the app was closed and opened again.
  • Deleting a macro no longer reports a failure when the delete in fact went through.
  • A slow or failed account check at launch no longer leaves the app stuck on start-up.
  • A round of smaller fixes to the Code Editor’s Python tooling.

How to Get the Update

The agent changes (sections 2 to 5) are live now. There is nothing to install: open MAS Agent and they are already in effect.

The desktop changes (sections 1, 6 and 7) are in the current desktop update: 1.0.129 on Windows and 1.1.4 on macOS, both out now. Macro Automation Studio prompts you to update the next time you launch it. New users always get the current version from the download page:

Download Macro Automation Studio

Compatible with Windows 10/11 and native Apple Silicon macOS (M1 to M5).

Tell Us What You Think

The chat rebuild came straight from feedback: people told us the conversation felt slow and inconsistent, and they were right. If something still feels off once you have the new version, tell us where.
